Tower Bridge Court will see the refurbishment, extension and re-purposing of an existing building creating enhanced office accommodation and the introduction of complementary commercial uses. The multi-use nature of the proposed building responds to the high demand for office space of varying sizes in the Tower Bridge area.
The building will introduce a new material palette redefining and simplifying the relationship between Tower Bridge Court, the adjacent Accumulator Tower and Tower Bridge.
The site is very visible and strategically important and any new building needs to be of very high architectural quality in order to enhance the setting of the Tower Bridge Conservation Area.
The proposal will create an architecturally rich scheme within the context which complements both the more recent additions (the “One Tower Bridge” development opposite) and the historic context of Shad Thames; a building that will be robust and flexible enough to enable its use to continue well into the future.
