The Brick, Westbourne Park, London

With a limited frontage onto Woodfield Road, this long, narrow site close to our studio had complex constraints, limited access and an ambitious density brief. We responded with three buildings of varying scales, which were delivered by others following planning consent: a thirteen-storey residential tower on the canal that relates to nearby landmarks such as Trellick Tower, a smaller-scale, garden-topped ‘brick’ of affordable homes facing onto the street, and behind, a wedge of offices for NHS workers, also overlooking the canal.
