Messums Wiltshire, Tisbury Barn

Stiff + Trevillion have created a 'pod' within a 14th Century Monastic Tithe Barn in Tisbury, Wiltshire. The pod contains a gallery shop and small cafe for a multi-purpose gallery and arts centre housed inside this magnificent and delicate building.

In recent years the barn has been extensively restored under the careful stewardship of Alastair Morrison, the 3rd Lord Margadale and estate manager Simon Fowler. Together with Johnathan Messum they have worked to bring the building back to life and open to the public as an arts centre and cultural institution for the South West of England.

The shop and cafe area created by Stiff + Trevillion ehances the space and extends the possibilites of what the barn can offer visitors and exhibitors alike. A highly sensitive intervention that does not conflict with the heritage of the building and allows it to shine.
