Jamie’s Italian Restaurants, Worldwide

Instead of following a rigid brand template, our restaurants for entrepreneur Jamie Oliver draw inspiration from their context. In Leeds, the setting is an old Victorian bank. We stripped it out, exposing the archaeology of the building along with its large volume, and added a nostalgic feel with glazed blue ceramic tiles. At the Bristol branch a plaque commemorates pioneering physician William Budd so we created a light installation of corked test tubes, while at Cheltenham the bespoke ‘scales of light’ relate to the setting in an old magistrates court.
