Du Boulay Contracts and Stiff + Trevillion's Villandry St James's is one of only five projects shortlisted in this year's NAS Design Partnership Awards (National Association of Shopfitters).
The restaurant is in a 1914 Edwardian baroque building continues and Villandry’s aim to develop large restaurants in amazing architectural spaces in central London.
Themed around a traditional nineteenth centaury Parisian Grand Café, the design has retained and refurbished the listed elements including an ornate fibrous plaster ceiling to the ground floor café, bar and private room. A marble staircase links the three floors and the balustrade from the listed stair was used as a design reference for the new railing to the double height void.
The Award ceremony takes place on 15 May 2014.
