Planning consent granted for Edgware Road scheme

Planning consent was granted by Westminster City Council at last (26.09.17) weeks committee meeting for this new scheme on the corner of Edgware Road and Church Road London, W2.

The client brief expressed a desire to create a building that will form a gateway and identifier to Church Street, that will form a suitable book-end to the terrace of houses on Edgware Road and to the Blackwater House on Church Street. 

The approved scheme will replace and expand the existing accommodation. It comprises:

+  Retention and improvement of 4 No. Ground Floor retail units.

+  Expansion of existing basement level.

+  3 No. floors of office space and residential.

+  4th floor of residential only.

+  External plant area on 4th floor.

+  External roof terrace above 3rd floor offices.

+  Ecological roof above 4th floor commercial and PV Photovoltaic cells on the residential and commercial roof.

The scheme will provide a highly sustainable building that is targeting BREEAM Excellent and will create active frontages to animate the street scape to both Church Street and Edgware Road.
