Supporting the RIBA National Schools Programme

News — 20 Jul 2022

Stiff+Trevillion have once again been supporting the RIBA National Schools Programme, working with St Francis De Sales Primary School, Tottenham, to introduce architecture to their year 6 students (ages 10 – 11).

The programme aims to spark excitement and understanding about the built environment and the role of architects in society. The students study the concept of landmark buildings along with an exercise on how to improve their school with renovations and new build interventions.

Pupils learnt how to express their ideas with 2D drawings in plan, section, and elevation in week 1 and then progressed these ideas with 3D model making during their second week.

Finally, in the third week, the children were given the chance to present all their ideas to their teachers, fellow pupils and the team from Stiff+Trevillion and we’re hoping these sessions will inspire the architects of tomorrow!
