Living Within - Architecture 2020

Living Within is an architectural symposium and exhibition of architectural models taking place at Messums, Wiltshire. For the Architecture 2020 Symposium, which begins on 9th September at 6.30pm, Messums will be joined by leading minds from the fields of Architecture, Interior and Garden Design to consider how creative solutions are adapting to contemporary concerns.

A panel discussion 'A Place Apart', lead by Mike Stiff, will take place on Saturday 12 September from 10.30am.

Alongside the symposium events, an exhibition of architectural models from leading practices will be on display in the barn from the 12 September until 18th October 2020. Stiff+Trevillion models of projects Mayfly Cottage and Catch, will both feature in the exhibition.

Acting as the backdrop to all these architectural events is an insight into working world of Elisabeth Frink with the resurrection of her Woolland studio in the historic tithe barn, 'A Place Apart'. Her studio, which Messums rescued from collapse in 2019, has been reconstructed to display a collection of original plasters alongside tools and objects salvaged from Woolland, providing a never seen before insight into one of Britain’s foremost sculptors.
