10 x 10 Drawing the City

News — 15 Dec 2011

10 x 10 is an intriguing drawing project which splits the City of London into a 10 x 10 grid. The resulting 100 squares have been allocated to prominent architects and artists including Mike Stiff, who came together in October 2011 to draw the city.

The artworks were auctioned by Sotheby’s on the 1 December 2011, and raised funds for Article 25 to provide essential buildings, improving the lives and livelihoods of some of the poorest people on earth. So far, the project has raised over £60,000.

Mike's image, above, portrays the city as a dark sinister place, with buildings surging up towards the sky and the light.
