Royal China Club has been on Baker Street for 12 years and was given the opportunity to expand into an adjacent site. With this new space the kitchen was upgraded along with front of house expanding from 120 covers to 180.
The main restaurant access is from Baker Street, a bright red entrance door leads in to the bar faced in profiled ceramic and brass with a Sahara Noir marble top and a mirrored and black stained oak back bar. Fish tanks face the bar teeming with lobster, sole, sea bass, prawns and shellfish. The restaurant has a feature wall in red lacquer, lipped in brass with large gold leaf coffers. Floors are laid in textured black porcelain with brass feature strips to the corridor and bar with bespoke handmade carpets by Govindia Hemphill.
The shopfront has been opened up with views into the restaurant. Sliding timber, brass and glass screens in a traditional Chinese lattice pattern providing intimacy for the private dining rooms. A sheer curtain to all the windows provides a gentle buffer to the outside world.
The original restaurant had two private dining rooms now expanded to five, with framed timber and silk wallpaper.
